Week 2 was a little slower than Week 1, but we had a great time in the mountains of East Tennessee. We made Sewanee our homebase for the week, and we loved getting the opportunity to set up an event at such a beautiful and historic university (think Hogwarts meets woodland retreat center). We signed up over 100 potential heroes at Sewanee, and then took a much needed hike through the woods surrounding the campus. We also set up at the Jack Daniels Headquarters in Lynchburg, TN (one of the cutest town squares we have ever seen).

We also got to ring the bell again because WE FOUND ANOTHER MATCH!!  It is such great encouragement knowing that what we are doing is working- matches are being found and lives are being saved! We celebrated with a Tennessee tradition- eating a Moon Pie.

We ended the week in the gorgeous little town of Oxford, MS. This was the first time anyone on the SAM Team had been to Mississippi and we had a great time seeing one of Sam’s best friends and eating more soul food than we should have. Thank you to the fraternities and sororities at Ole Miss who let us stop by and swab!

Alabama next!
